Online as an environmentally friendly replacement for large-scale offline events

Writer: after-party.proafter-party.pro

Over the past few years, the demand for online events has increased, and the main reason for this, of course, was the pandemic and all the restrictions associated with it. Despite the fact that many companies perceived this format with skepticism, it is now impossible to deny the enormous opportunities and advantages of online.

An online event is a format where spectators are not physically present, and today it has gone far beyond the standard broadcast. This is, first of all, immersing viewers in the atmosphere through virtual 3D studios with unlimited possibilities for creating content, virtual presenters, gamification that allows you to realize your wildest fantasies, etc.

Online is far from a new format. For many years it has been used by both government officials (open speeches, teleconferences, etc.) and the entertainment sector (streams, e-sports, social networks).

Of course, online will not solve all the problems and tasks of your business; as an offline format, it has its advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:

  • The most important advantage is, of course, the cost.

  • Environmental friendliness.

You do not need a site, decorations, handouts, products, transport, disposable supplies, cleaning and much, much more that an offline event implies.

  • Feedback and analytics.

You can analyze your audience, conduct surveys, collect contacts, and create a complete portrait of your target audience.

  • Greater audience reach.

Connection anywhere and from any device, with complete security for participants, provides an unlimited number of audiences and potential clients.

  • Unlimited content possibilities.

Thanks to virtual studios and 3D visualization, you can create a dream site that could not be created in real life.

  • Deadlines.

If necessary, a remote event can be created in a week, which is quite problematic to do offline.

  • Ready-made and adaptive sites.

There are already quite a few platforms in Russia where you can start online broadcasting in just a couple of clicks.

  • Variety of formats.

The online sphere is actively developing, a wide variety of formats allows you to move away from the usual broadcasts and makes the event much more interesting.

  • Possibility of broadcasting in any language.

Professional translators can translate speech almost simultaneously with the speakers.

Flaws:

  • Lack of networking.

The lack of live communication and establishing social connections is certainly one of the biggest disadvantages of the online format.

However, for people who avoid or are embarrassed by live communication, virtual communication will be much more comfortable.

  • Distraction factor.

Something that cannot be influenced. When participating from home, work, bar, beach, etc., there will be a large number of distractions from the event.

  • Scale, or rather the lack thereof.

Online it is quite difficult to show the scale of the event itself, the number of people, and opportunities.

We are definitely for online events. This is an actively developing area that will surprise us not only with technological innovations, but also with creative solutions, formats and scenarios.
